What deltaPlus does
The app
- Built by educatorsWritten by the people who teach the material, not licensed in from somewhere else.
- Shaped around the studentGuides and exercises that follow where the gaps actually are.
- Driven by the approachEvery guide teaches a repeatable method, not just an answer.
- A companion to tutoringIt stands alone, and it makes our programs go further.
The deltaPlus SAT app is coming to the App Store this November.
Philosophy
In math, the Greek lowercase letter delta (δ) represents a small change. Big change—a better score, a new habit, real confidence—is the natural consequence of small actions taken mindfully, over and over. We build everything around this idea.
-
Approach-focused problem-solving
We teach the approach first, not the answer. A repeatable way to read a problem, choose a method, and check your work travels to every question you'll ever see.
-
Goal-setting with meaningful data feedback
Clear goals, then honest feedback on the way there. We measure where the points are being lost, so every session points at something real, not busywork.
-
Consistency
Small, steady effort beats bursts of cramming. Showing up repeatedly is where the compounding happens — the deltas add up.
-
Sustainability
A pace you can keep. We design study that fits a real life so progress lasts all the way to the goal instead of burning out before it.
No two problems are 100% identical. Without an organized approach to problem-solving, each solution to a different problem is merely a fact disconnected from other facts. It sits stale in memory—unusable—until it's forgotten.
Mission
To expand access to quality educational opportunities — putting the kind of focused, thoughtful preparation that changes outcomes within reach of more students.
About the Founder
Kevin Engle
Founder, deltaPlus Learning
I studied mathematics and physics at the University of Florida, and business at Boston College. I’ve taught and tutored for more than fifteen years, including three as a high school physics teacher, and for names like The Princeton Review and Mathnasium. I’ve worked with thousands of students from every background, all across the country and internationally, in dozens of subjects and standardized tests: one-on-one, in small groups, and in lecture halls, in person and online.
If all of that taught me one thing, it’s that learning is hard, whatever anyone says, and that’s why so many people stop. My goal is to make learning as easy as possible, and fun again. Learning is fun, and the best educators remind us of this.
I start with approach: helping students see that what looks different is often the same idea in a new form. That’s how strong thinkers are built.
Everyone should have access to a great education, and too much of what exists falls short. That’s why I started deltaPlus Learning.
